The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Mazaar (shrine) of last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar in September 2017.

Previously in May 2012, the former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh also paid his visit to the Mazar of Bahadur Shah Zafar, in Yangon, Myanmar.
